Felt Manor IS AMAZING FOR ALL FIVE AWESOME THINGS THAT HAPPENED IN GALENA, IL DURING JUNE'S PRIDE MONTH
Pride month in Galena started off magical with a natural rainbow casting above our beautiful town. Our population is 3500 and there are 1.6 million visitors a year.
The entire month of June is a beautiful celebration called #AmazingForAll.
Pride Steps and Bridge To celebrate Pride Month, rainbow flags and stairs took over the Galena Pedestrian Bridge in downtown Galena. It was a stunning tribute to those who have fought for inclusivity and equal rights. It was also a fabulous photo opportunity for visiting tourists, and locals!
Shops and Businesses It was a very colorful walk down Main Street this month. Many shops (like the Apothecary and Shop the Neighborhood) decked their window displays with rainbows and messages of hope. A few businesses and restaurants offered seasonal items and souvenirs.
Special Felt Manor treats Have you seen our Pride Macarons? (Photographed below.) We had a blast designing and creating themed treats and breakfasts this month. It was a joy to elevate our current menu items and spread the love to our guests.
Pride Picnic Innkeepers Alex and Geoff were planning Galena's FIRST EVER Pride Picnic. Plans sometimes get derailed and that's OK. We have cancelled the 2020 event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but look forward to gathering with neighbors and allies for an even bigger celebration in 2021!
A Surprise Proposal! New beginnings closed out Pride month at Felt Manor! On one very special morning, Liz popped THE question to a surprised Lexi and she said yes. Liz decided to propose in our front lawn at the top of Felt's Folly overlooking downtown Galena. It was a beautiful moment. They enjoyed champagne and berries as we all shed tears of joy!
