More porch progress

While the HVAC overhaul was going on inside, our construction crew was outside working on the porch. They removed the old skirting, shored up the porch’s structure, replaced whatever was rotten, and put in a new bead board skirt. The old (peeling, rotting) steps were removed, and new stringers and steps went in. The steps are made of a durable, gorgeous composite material in a historically appropriate shade of gray. Love the way they look! Most of the porch deck can be saved, so the plan is to paint the porch floor in a shade of gray to match the steps.

With winter’s first snowfall, the rest of the porch will have to wait until spring….
